Standard gauge hydrostatic Hi-Rail 24T gross vehicle mass (GVM) FVY 1400 Isuzu truck undergoing track testing and commissioning trials. This vehicle has an HMA Techniplan Hi-Rail Boom Lifts accessory kit fitted to the truck body. The Boom Lift includes a multi-axis manipulator head for holding, accessing, placing and lowering ventilation jet fans in rail tunnels. The Hi-Rail vehicle travels into the tunnel and the radio controlled manipulator’s arm is deployed. This attaches to and lowers the jet fan to the tray of the Isuzu truck. The Hi-Rail FVY 1400 Isuzu truck then travels out of the tunnel and then by road to the workshop. A replacement jet fan is then loaded onto the truck and transported via road and rail to the specific location. The new jet fan is installed at this point on the tunnel’s roof.
